ALISON HAS
Reformed our Sexual Assault Response System
Launched a comprehensive evaluation of Austin Police Department’s sexual assault response system to ensure survivors are listened to and their cases are investigated diligently.
Prioritized the Victim Services division in the budget process and increased their resources and staffing, guiding the unit to an unprecedented level of funding. Most recently, Alison successfully amended the FY21 budget to provide an additional $500,000 to the Victim Services division for new counselors and new equipment.

Pursued improvements to Austin’s DNA testing processes and advanced new contracts that increase our testing capacity, shorten the timeframe for testing, and expedite the delivery of accurate results.
