Supported enhanced medical collaboration and assistance for area nursing homes and protections for other vulnerable populations
Led efforts to allocate millions in relief to nonprofits, small-businesses and childcare centers;
Created the Austin Civilian Conservation Corps to provide outdoor, socially-distant work for unemployed Austinites to create infrastructure that makes us more environmentally resilient; such as wildfire mitigation projects, trail maintenance, and flooding prevention
Led the effort to increase our funding for EMS resources and community paramedics
Created the Office of the Chief Medical Officer to improve access to physician services and improve clinical oversight
Helped to distribute thousands of masks to nonprofits and institutions in District 10
Provided individual financial and rental relief through the RISE and RENT programs, supported creative sector relief and advanced utility relief
Provided regular, data-informed updates so individuals could make the best choices for their families and businesses.
